Girl’s tennis seniors Lawsen Barefoot and Kyndal Singh celebrate one of their last games with teammates.

The girls tennis team celebrated their senior night with a 7-2 win against Godwin High School on April 28, 2022. With four games left, the tennis team has played well this season with a record of 9-3. The Girls Tennis team will miss their seniors as they embark on the future.

Lawsen Barefoot has been on the tennis team for all four years of high school. She occupies the senior captain position while also starting in singles and doubles for her entire high school career. Barefoot feels like the season was a success because the girls had strong relationships with great team chemistry. Her favorite memory from this year was the laser-tag team bonding activity. Next year, she will be attending James Madison University and study to become a nurse.

Kyndal Singh has been on the Girls Tennis team for the past two years. She is the tennis captain who starts on double lines three. Her favorite memory of this season were all the bus rides for away games. Singh will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall and intends to play club tennis while majoring in hospitality and tourism.

Congratulations, seniors!
