The Midlothian High School Winter Guard attended the Powhatan Invitational event hosted by Powhatan High School on Sat., Jan. 18. When asked about their preparation for the tournament, Madison Johnson, 12, stated, “We prepared for the competition by attending our weekly practices. We started each practice with warm-ups, then from there we cleaned up and ran through various parts of the show.” It is clear that the team put a lot of effort into this victory.
The team ended up winning first place in Color-guard Scholastic Regional A1. It was a very exciting success for Midlo, and the team was proud to bring home a trophy. “My favorite part of this winter guard season has been seeing all the members grow individually and as a whole,” Johnson said.
Overall, the team has had a great season so far, and they are ready for future competitions.
