Tanaiya Turner happily accepts her Student of the Month award from Assistant Principal Mr. Steven Lagow.

The first month of school kicked off in an unusual way, but despite the challenges, students rose to the  occasion. Each month, one student from grades 9 and 10 and one student from grades 11 and 12 are chosen to represent the school as students of the month. Sophomore Tanaiya Turner, who dove into virtually learning with a positive attitude, earns the September Student of the Month honor.  In class, she displays a positive attitude by cheering on her classmates, coming to class excited to learn every single day, and exhibiting personal responsibility and warmth with a bright smile.

Receiving the September Student of the Month award surprised Turner, but classmates and teachers describe her as kind and humble. As a member of both the Midlothian High track team and DECA, Turner’s involvement in the Midlo community runs deep. Outside of school, she loves working out with her stepfather, as well as training for the track team. Congratulations, Tanaiya Turner!
