Artistic Talent on Display
Festival of the Arts
On April 16th and 17th, teachers from throughout Chesterfield County displayed the best works of art made by their students. This year the Fine Arts Festival was held at Thomas Dale High School. Mrs. Myer, the 3D-design teacher, said, “My favorite part of the festival is setting the display up and watching the display come together. I also like working with the other teachers and students to hang the show.” Elementary, middle, and high schoolers, along with their parents, anxiously entered the gym in search of their school’s exhibit.
Elli Perkins said, “I love seeing the art from other schools. I feel like the Fine Arts Festival is a great way for the teachers to display some of the amazing art pieces created by students from all around the county.” Many of the guests said they loved seeing the different styles of art that were displayed. Junior Riley Mosher said, “It was a pleasant surprise seeing the artistic side of people rather than the intellectual side.” Visitors stood in awe at some of the amazing talent showcased by the many students. One of the many visitors to the festival was Midlothian principal Mr. Shawn Abel, who was amazed, but not shocked, by the incredible talents of the Midlothian and Chesterfield County students. Overall, the Fine Arts Festival proved a huge success, showcasing the many amazing talents present in Chesterfield County Public Schools.
