Holden Dorman receives the October 2021 Employee of the Month Award.

Midlo’s Theatre Production teacher, Mr. Holden Dorman, was awarded October Employee of the Month to showcase the school community’s gratitude for his never-ending commitment to the school theater department.

Dorman received his degree in Technical Theatre from Coker University before coming to Midlo in 2019. His inspiration and desire to become a teacher stemmed from his family, which is full of educators. His middle school teacher, Ms. Bernard, also served as a role model for his career path as well. Dorman’s classes revolve around teaching his students the mechanics of what goes on backstage in order for a show to be successful. Once the students have a hold on the ins and outs of the stage, they put their knowledge into action by putting on theatre productions. Dorman guides this process by serving as the Midlo Technical Director as well. Not only is Dorman the Theatre Production teacher and Technical Director, he is also the Freshman Class co-sponsor and a member of the Social and Equity Committee.

This recognition means that “what I’m doing is the right thing. [The award] means the world to me and inspires me to keep doing what I can to make this school the best that I can,” Dorman said.

Congratulations, Mr. Dorman!
