Richmond’s Halloween Haunts
Halloween Activities 2021
To celebrate Halloween, the Richmond community has lots of upcoming spooky surprises and events planned for October 29 through 31. Various groups have worked hard to put together costume contests, haunted houses, mazes, shows and movie nights for the weekend. With this variety of activities happening near Midlothian, there is something for all ages to enjoy.
KINGS DOMINION HALLOWEEN HAUNT
16000 Theme Park Way, Doswell, VA 23047
For the past 20 years, Kings Dominion has transformed their family-friendly park into one of Virginia’s most notable Halloween attractions. With over 400 cast members playing creepy characters throughout the designated scare zones, Kings Dominion makes sure to leave guests terrified. Other attractions include mazes, rides, and live shows fulfilling a jam-packed night. With the new addition of an outdoor scare maze that is based on childhood stories, guests can interact with characters from fairytales such as Little Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf, and Hansel and Gretel.

Busch Gardens also has a frightening Halloween experience, Howl-O-Scream. This year, the park has added three new haunted houses, coming to a total of five, which is in addition to their four scary shows. During the day, the park is still a family-friendly environment, however, at 7 p.m. it transforms into a haunted party which includes the attendance of creatures and monsters.
HALLOWEEN BASH
9201 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23235
Held at Off the Wall, Indoor Bounce and Party Place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., kids and teens are invited to dress up in their costumes for a Halloween-themed party. Food and drinks will be provided along with bounce houses for only $12 per ticket.

On October 30, Tuckahoe Plantation is hosting a haunted history tour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is only $10 per person and includes a hayride, moon bounce, two mazes, and a scavenger hunt. Attendees may spot a resident ghost or even the headless horseman.
TEEN HALLOWEEN PARTY

For teens ages 14 to 17, Junkie Rental Pembroke is hosting a Halloween party on October 31 from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are only $10 per person and there will be a costume contest with a $50 prize.
TEEN’S NIGHT OUT
412 N Boundary St, Williamsburg, VA 23185
Hosted on October 31, teens from ages 13 to 18 are invited to the Stryker Center for gaming, music, food, dancing, and contests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The festivities are being hosted by members of the Williamsburg Regional Library Teen Advisory Group.

Hosted by the Richmond Symphony on October 30, people of all ages are welcome to the Carpenter Theater to hear music from classic Halloween-inspired movies. The event will last from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to come in costume and attend the costume parade ahead of time at 10:30a.m.
