Midlo Scoop‘s “What’s in a Name?” segment highlights Midlo students who possess unique, standout names. This week’s spotlight focuses on senior Kaija Taylor, a member of Midlothian High School’s mixed show choir Just For Show. She dives into the background regarding her name and how it makes her stand out:

What’s the background story behind your name?

My name is Japanese.  Kai means restoration, and my mother added the ja at the end. My name means precious girl in Sweden.

What’s your personal opinion on your name? Do you like it? Why or Why not?

I love my name; it makes me unique.

If you were given the option to keep your name or choose a new one, what would it be and why?

If I were to choose a different name, it would be Kai because I love the root of my name and what it stands for.

What are you looking forward to most about graduating high school?
