The Midlothian Theater Department, while working on You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, also prepared for the VHSL One Act Competition, held on Saturday, November 4, 2017,  at Chancellor High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Upperclassmen in each theater class were carefully chosen to take part in the competition. They performed the last half of  Imagining Shakespeare, which will hit the Midlo stage in its entirety later this year.  Mrs. Katherine Baugher, the genius behind Midlo’s Theater Department, has combined multiple Shakespeare scenes from different plays into one. Some of the characters, such as Macbeth, will be played by multiple people. Using two actors to portray one character creates impactful imagery that will send the audience’s heart racing.

Amid tough competition, the Midlo Troupe earned second place out of nine schools, qualifying them to continue to Regional competition on November 18th in Williamsburg, Virginia.
