On September 29th, 2017, the senior class officers and Senior Council members organized and held the first senior tailgate of the school year, which took place outside in the picnic area by the main gymnasium doors. Decked out in neon apparel, students bustled over to the food table, eager to indulge in Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets, chips, cookies, and an assortment of sodas.

Seniors enjoyed the fall weather, hanging out by the gym, throwing footballs and frisbees to and fro, bonding over rounds of corn hole, and getting their boogie to the rhythmic tunes blasting. Dreya Fernandes, a senior attendee, exclaimed, “The tailgate was awesome! Chicken and music are my two favorite things!”

Painting their arms and legs, Midlothian seniors grew more and more eager to cheer on the Trojans in the student section at the Trojans’ first home football game. “I don’t think the tailgate could be more successful,” Olivia Harriman shared. “It was a super fun way to get hyped up for the first home game.  I loved painting up with my friends, too.”

That night, the team spirit and Trojan pride felt stronger than ever, as fans cheered on the Trojans to a 14-6 victory, putting the Midlothian Trojans at a promising season standing of 2-3.
