Dear Veterans and Active-Duty Servicemen and Servicewomen,

On this day every year, Americans around the country extend their gratitude for the sacrifices you and your family have made. Thank you for spending extended time away from family and friends and risking your lives for ours. We greatly appreciate your service. Thank you for putting your life on the line for your loved ones and people you do not even know. Thank you for sacrificing every part of you, physical and mental, in order to defend the freedoms of all Americans, even for those who do not appreciate the sacrifices you have made.

You continued to serve, day in and day out, regardless of the danger, fatigue, and fear. You gave up your own personal freedoms in order to defend the personal freedoms of every American. We wish we could thank you on a daily basis. We all are indebted to you. 

To the families of veterans, thank you also for the extreme sacrifices you have made. You never complained about the constant moving, and you supported each other during deployment.

To anyone reading this letter, please take the time to thank our men and women in uniform. You never know what this simple expression of gratitude means to them.
