Calling all writers: Record this historic time
UVA historian recommends journaling during the pandemic
According to an article in UVA Today by Anne E. Bromley, University of Virginia history professor Herbert “Tico Braun” advises his students, “You do not write alone.” On Monday, he sent an email to student, past and present, to journal daily about life during the coronavirus pandemic.
Not only does writing provide an opportunity to pour feelings onto the page, reducing stress, this type of journaling provides a contemporaneous account of an historic time, offering varying viewpoints of a shared experience.
While distance learning, consider keeping a daily journal. Feel free to send entries (with dates) to [email protected] to be considered for publication.
