All three musical teachers, Mr. Gordon Rawls, Mrs. Michelle Graham, and Mr. Taylor Fletcher, proudly earn the title of Blue Ribbon School.

Congratulations to the Midlo Music Department for being recognized as a VMEA Blue Ribbon School for music. This is the ninth time the band, chorus, and orchestra have received this honor, as well as the second year consecutively.

Recently, the band, chorus, and orchestra attended a state assessment, where they each performed their pieces to receive a score from the judges. Each had an outstanding performance and received a superior score, awarding them the title of a Blue Ribbon School.

Under the direction of Mr. Gordon Rawls, both the Trojan Concert and Marching Band received a superior score, awarding them the recognition of a VBODA Commonwealth of Virginia Honor Band for the fourth year in a row. The 2018 senior class will be the first graduating class to be part of an Honor Band all four years since 2003 and the Concert Band’s unanimous score of superior from all four judges makes this the fifth year in a row they’ve received a superior rating.

Congrats, Midlo Band, Orchestra, and Chorus!
