Midlothian High School recently challenged its longtime rivals, the Monacan Chiefs, to a ‘food fight’ on October 27, 2017. To participate in the food fight, the students at both schools competed to bring in the most canned goods to school or to the Midlo vs. Monacan football game.

Midlo sought to defeat its fierce school rivalry both on the field and off the field (to help feed the hungry). To win this challenge, Spirit Club challenged all Midlo clubs to compete by bringing in as many food items as possible, including: canned foods, peanut butter (a favorite), and non-perishable items by the 27th.  After the donations were tallied, the results were announced at the end of first quarter. FBLA, sponsored by Mrs. Yvonne Mullins, brought the most food and won a catered meeting, courtesy of Spirit Club. All canned foods and non-perishable items were donated to the Chesterfield Food Bank to help feed the hungry. In total, Midlo collected 466 pounds of food for people in need.
