Last year, President Barack Obama invited Midlo Social Studies & Success teacher Mr. Danny Abell to attend Teacher Appreciation Day at The White House on May 6, 2016.   Mr. Abell had written a letter about being a teacher that really touched President Obama, specifically asking whether Mr. Obama would want his daughters to be teachers. During the official gathering, President Obama personally recognized Mr. Abell.
