To help benefit the community, the Midlo Senior Class Council hosted a school-wide food drive. During their October meeting, the members decorated collection boxes with pictures of foods needed for donation to capture the attention of students. They placed the boxes in the front office, the closed commons, and the open commons. Through first period classes, students brought in canned goods, boxed goods, and other non-perishables.

On November 18th, the Chesterfield Food Bank arrived to collect the donated items. Senior Class Officers Sam Maguire, Alexa Battle, Elli Perkins, and Danny McLaughlin assisted Senior class co-sponsor, Mr. Chris Elliot and Principal Shawn Abel in transporting the food to the truck. In all, the senior class collected an astounding 486 pounds of food that will help stock the shelves at the food bank.

The Class of 2017 would like to thank everyone who donated food. All donated items will go to help make the holiday season special for families throughout Chesterfield County.
