Mrs. Garrison’s French 1 Student Visit CTC

French 1 students flaunt their self-made bagettes.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, twenty-one French 1 students traveled to the CTC @ Hull (Chesterfield Technical Center) to learn how to bake baguettes from scratch. The field trip served as an introduction to a unit that comes later in the year, giving them a reason to write down the recipe down. Students partnered and worked with a CTC student enrolled in the baking course. Midlo students learned to knead, punch, and score the dough. The day culminated with students enjoying their baguettes, fresh from the oven with brie and apple cider. Chef J finished the dish by crumbling apple on top of the food. The successful trip taught the valuable skill of collaboration and teamwork.
