On Oct. 24, 2025, the Midlothian Trojans took on the James River Rapids at home with kickoff at 7 p.m. The forty degree weather cooled everyone as they watched the Trojans get point after point and swiftly get their anticipated win against the Rapids. Midlothian’s 27-14 victory bumped their standing record to a staggering 7-2.

However, before the coin flip, the senior Trojans, Trojanettes, and cheerleaders all walked down the field with their parents saying their goodbyes to their high school athletic experience.
“I really love to dance. I love this team, especially because instead of just dancing on stage, we dance at football games, which I think are more fun,” Allison Holton (12), a four-year Trojanette, said.
After the exciting event, the game officially kicked off with Trojans winning the coin toss at 7 p.m. In the first half, our team achieved a fourth down stop which set the winning tone for the rest of the game.
“It made the kids play more confidently. Defense getting James River’s team off the field was a big deal,” Coach Fout said. “Especially because their running back is a very, very good player.”
The game continued with the Trojans scoring touchdowns and swiftly rushing the Rapids back home. Although the team take their win with pride, some players walk away with some advice to give.
“I think we need to get better at performing more as a unit and just more as a team, but I still feel like we’re ready for the playoffs,” Brody Still (11) said.
