The Midlothian Medford basketball team narrowly lost to the Clover Hill Cavaliers on January 11th. Cavalier player #31 made a shot with around a minute left on the clock, bringing the final score to 68-66. Top scorers for the Trojans included I’zeer Milton, Jed Workman, and Connor Schoenfelder. Milton is particular played well, stealing the ball late in the third quarter and allowing Shoenfelder to make a shot. The halftime dances were led by Officer McDonough, with a few Midlo students joining in.
Across Chesterfield County and Powhatan, Medford games have become more and more important to schools. “It’s become a really big deal,” coach Thomas Kevins said. “We play every week for three months.” At the end of the year, all the Medford teams will compete in a countywide game to celebrate the end of the season. “Every team gets to play another team, but they’re all together, kind of celebrating each other,” Kevins said.
