A new and popular trend this past year has been celebrities as well as influencers/content creators creating podcast with mainly their other famous influencer friends. People like Trevor Noah, Meghan Markle, Gwyneth Paltrow and many other more notable names continued this progression. However, many people who are not famous or have a large following also started podcasts that gained plenty of attraction and attention. One person gaining lots of attraction and attention this past year from her unironic and dry humor fueled podcast titled The Really Good Podcast has been Bobbi Althoff. She first started gaining attention and listeners in April when her interview with Drake went viral in August again mainly due to her dry humor, and the fact that the episode was filmed in Drake’s bed while sipping on cocktails. She later on would continue to interview A-list celebrities such as Offset, Mark Cuban, and Shaq to name a few and due to this Althoff had a strange and quick rise to fame not only in the podcast world but also in the social media world with almost 3 million followers on Instagram and a little over a million subscribers on her Youtube channel. Early on in her career she was accused multiple times of being an “industry plant” which is referring to a term used to describe someone who may seem to be independent, but might have a connection of some sort to a corporations or other industry connections. This reference was made by many in sprite of her quick rise to fame. Bobbi continues to film and create podcasts, her latest one in November hosted Jessica Alba an American actress mainly known for her work in Fantastic Four.
