A collection of stories to recap some of the most major events of 2023

This past year the world lost some true legends from multiple different industries. Here we would like to commemorate them and offer a little insight to their legacies.

Jimmy Buffett’s easy-going, tropical music and persona set him apart from other musical artists and ultimately made him go down in history. From the beginning of his career while trying to break into country music, until the very end, Buffett’s music was award winning and iconic. His most notable songs were “Margaritaville”, “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere”, “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, and many, many more. Buffett opened his own chain of restaurants, coined Margaritaville, beginning in Key West, FL, and spreading across the US. On September 1st of 2023, news spread of his death. Throughout Labor Day weekend, news outlets flooded with stories of Buffett’s passing. After a private battle with skin cancer, Buffett died of Merkel-cell carcinoma.

Matthew Perry, best known for his work on the award-winning 10-season hit “Friends”, died on October 28th of this year. His cause of death was released shortly after his death; he was found dead in his jacuzzi at his LA home after drowning.

Angus Cloud died of an accidental overdose on multiple drugs on July 31st this year. Cloud was most notably featured on “Euphoria”, playing the lovable character Fezco or “Fez” for only two seasons.

Emmy-winning actor Andre Braugher’s death came as a shock to many, with news of his passing spreading on December 11th of 2023. Braugher died of lung cancer, after spending many years as a smoker and quitting in 2010. He was most known for his roles in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, “City of Angels”, and more.
