On Nov. 15, 2022 students were alerted to the tragic news of three UVA football players who had been fatally shot. Many universities and college communities sent words of support for UVA during this time, paying respects with small memorials and some encouraging messages throughout Virginia campuses. A message on Beta Bridge reads, “Forever in our hearts,” followed with the numbers and initials of the late players. Midlo, too, looked for a way to honor the players and stand in solidarity with the families and other schools. On Friday, Nov. 18, Chesterfield County asked all students to dress in navy and orange in remembrance of the players.
