Midlo Theater presents The Play That Goes Wrong
Theater Fall Performance 2022
The theater department put on their fall performance, The Play That Goes Wrong, by playwright Henry Lewis, on Nov. 17th, 18th, and 19th in the auditorium. The performance featured a cast of actors putting on a murder mystery, however, the play cannot seem to go right. With forgotten lines, technical issues, and scenery that sabotages the performance, the show is designed to keep the audience on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
“The play that goes wrong is a super technical performance because the cues for the things that go wrong have to be timed perfectly,” Kathryn Duval, 12, said.
“This show has a much smaller cast than previous shows we’ve put on in the past,” Anna Ganz, 12, said. “It is also one of the first comedies we have put on since Puffs back in 2019.”
Despite the subtle and planned miscues, even a the novice theater-goers found the play humorous.
“The play was really funny and the audience laughed throughout most of the show,” Jacob Copp, 11, said. “I’m not the biggest fan of theater but my friends were performing and people who had seen the show before me had really good things to say about it.”
