Midlo Winter Guard Takes Another Victory
Atlantic Indoor Association at Grassfield High
On February 24, 2018, Midlothian’s Winter Guard team competed in its third competition at the Atlantic Indoor Association, hosted by Grassfield High School. They won first place yet again and beat four other teams competing at the same level. The team has put in a tremendous amount of work since the beginning of its season. They practice two days a week for about two and a half hours, and in addition, put in all of the extra gym time they can. The Midlo Winter Guard had previously won first place at its first competition and were ready to grab another victory.
After competing, all of the schools sat together on the bleachers as the judges announced the scores, schools, and the placings. The team sat anxiously in silence and listened as third and second were announced. In that moment, everyone thought to themselves, “Wait, did we just win? Everyone started screaming,” commented Cassidy Shelton. Zoe Carter said that “[She] was in disbelief” and that she thought they would not win due to a few errors, but they took home another victory. Congratulations to Midlothian’s Winter Guard. Good luck on April 7th, the last competition of the season.
