Orr Earns Spot on the Central Regional Orchestra
February 2-3, Manchester High
On Saturday, January 13th, 2018, Midlo freshman Samantha Orr auditioned for the Central Regional Orchestra, which will take place at Manchester High School on February 2nd and 3rd. Orr made it by placing an outstanding 9th out of the 124 cellos that auditioned. Of her effort, Orr says, “I try to put my all into it.” She started playing the cello in 6th grade. Although she says she originally wanted to play the violin, she is very happy with the choice she made to play the cello.
What is your favorite thing about playing an instrument?
The whole experience is amazing. It’s awesome to see how a new song can turn into something beautiful.
Do you have any advice for those considering the cello?
It’s a lot of work, but it’s fun.
