Daylight Saving Time ends on November 5th.

November 5th is the end of Daylight Saving Time, which means it’s time to set the clock back an hour. The main purpose of Daylight Saving Time is to make better use of daylight.

The idea was first conceived by Benjamin Franklin in 1784, but was not officially acted upon until much later. On March 19, 1918, The Standard Time Act was passed, establishing time zones and daylight saving. About 40% of the world currently observes Daylight Saving Time to conserve daylight and energy.

Daylight Saving Time is the practice of setting one’s clock an hour ahead from standard time during the summer months, then back again during the fall. In effect, one hour repeats, as local time jumps from Daylight Saving Time back to standard time. The clocks always go forward an hour on the last weekend in March in spring, and go back on the final weekend of October in autumn. Always remember: spring forward, fall back.

Don’t forget to change your clocks on November 5th!
