On Tues, Dec. 10, Midlothian High School held a ceremony in the Auditorium to induct 190 students into the National Honors Society (NHS).
The event started with an inspirational speech from principal Dr. Abel, which congratulated the students and reminded them of their accomplishments. As students were called up by the president, Elizabeth Reinhardt, they walked across the stage, shook hands, and received a paper stating that they have formally been inducted.
Reinhardt remarked on how she feels about the qualifications a student has to have to be in the society, “I feel like they are not too bad, it is just ten service hours to stay in the club. To get in, you have to have really good grades, but part of NHS is to have high academic standing.”
After the ceremony, students and parents enjoyed doughnuts, sweet treats, and refreshments in celebration of the students achievements. As a closing, all of the new students apart of NHS made their way to the gymnasium to take a picture to remember this important morning.
