With the upcoming releases of Wicked on Nov. 22, the advertisement has been taken notice by not only the fandom, but those who do not know much about the musical turned movie.
Two new drinks are available at Starbucks. The new drinks are themed after the two main characters, Glinda and Elphaba. While the drinks seem as if they are a new, special concoction, they use the same base as current drinks. The Glinda’s Pink Potion, is the Mango Dragon fruit refresher, but with a small twist, there is a strawberry coldfoam and sprinkles added to the top. Elphaba’s Cold Brew is coffee with peppermint-flavored syrup, nondairy matcha cold foam, and green sprinkles. Not only are there limited time drinks, but limited edition cups were released.
Stanley released Wicked themed cups, only available in Target. The cups were released on Oct. 16, and represented Glinda and Elphaba, like the Starbucks drinks. To represent Elphaba, Stanley made a green cup. For Glinda, a pink tumbler was released. These cups have become popular and quickly bought from the shelves.
In terms of food, Betty Crocker released a mystery cake and cupcake mix. The product is either a green cake mix to represent Elphaba, or pink cake mix to represent Glinda. The reveal comes when you open the box, adding a twist to the baking experience.
With the anticipation of the soon to be released film, more and more collaborations continue to appear. From drinks to food to merchandise, fans do not have to look far to find something for them.
