The sound of car engines and the smell of coffee fills the air as students wait in line to get their morning energizers.
For years, Starbucks has been the go-to morning wake-up for students – but this year, a new coffee shop has taken over. 7 Brew Coffee is a drive thru only coffee chain that has recently expanded to Midlothian Turnpike. Students have made the switch to wait in line at 7 Brew rather than Starbucks.
“I love their prices,” Caroline Williams, 12, said. “Even though I love Starbucks, I feel like at 7 brew you can get more for less.”
7 Brew is a stop frequently made in the morning by students.
“I go every other day before school,” Emma Andes, 12, said.
Not only does 7 Brew specialize in coffee, but they have other drinks to choose from.
“I think 7 Brew does a good job at marketing to people who don’t like coffee, like me,” Hannah Greene, 12, said. “I don’t like coffee and they have more options and drinks for people who don’t like coffee.”
Some options other than coffee include smoothies, lemonades, shakes, and teas.
“One time I got the Blondie, and the other time I got a smoothie,” Charlotte Cunningham, 12, said. “They definitely have good drinks for everyone to try.”
7 Brew is taking over the coffee rivalry with loads of different flavors.
“My go to order at 7 Brew is a Blondie with caramel and banana bread flavoring,” Grace Grilliot, 10, said. “I’ve gone three or four times and I think their flavors are unique.”
“Their workers are super friendly and make me want to go back,” Williams said.
