The smell of chicken filled the restaurant as students ordered dinner at the counter, where proceeds from their order would go to the Black Student Union (BSU).
Charis Harrell, the BSU President, was present at the event, along with the Advisor, Jarhon Giddings.
“We sat at a table at Chick-Fil-A,” Harrell said. “Students could spin a wheel for free Chick-Fil-A gift cards. When a student went to pay for their food, a portion of the proceeds would transfer to the BSU. “When people went up to buy their Chick-Fil-A, they would mention BSU and 30% of the profit would go to us,” Harrell said.
The process to do a fundraiser at Chick-Fil-A was fairly simple for the club. “The restaurant had reached out to Midlo and asked if any clubs wanted to do spirit nights,” Harrell said. “BSU booked one of the dates.”
