Gaeth verbals to the Eagles
Senior Katie Gaeth commits to play basketball at Bridgewater College.
Throughout the years, Midlothian High School has produced several athletes who compete to continue their athletic careers into college. Senior Katie Gaeth joined these athletes when she verbally committed to play collegiate basketball at Bridgewater College. Bridgewater is a private, liberal-arts college in Bridgewater, Virginia, with approximately 1,800 students.
Gaeth began the sport of basketball when during 8th grade because she wanted to try a second sport. She explains,“I thought soccer was not my sport anymore, so I decided to play basketball.” After growing a love and passion for the sport, Gaeth joined AAU to strengthen her experience in basketball. This upcoming winter, Gaeth will enter her fourth year within the Midlothian Basketball program and her third year on Midlothian’s Varsity Team. Gaeth’s teammate, Cameron Long, states, “Katie is a very talented player who has a ton of potential, and I am excited to see her flourish.”
As Gaeth began her junior season for Midlo and AAU basketball, she realized she wanted to continue basketball into her college career. With this goal, Gaeth worked hard on and off the court to achieve this goal. Eventually, Bridgewater coaches saw Gaeth play, beginning her first steps toward playing collegiate basketball. Gaeth chose to join the Eagles because she “really like[s] the school, the team, and they have [her] major.” Gaeth plans to major in Physical Therapy at Bridgewater and looks forward to joining the Eagles in 2020.
