Formidable Midlo Forensics Team Rocks Regionals
VHSL Region 4B and Super-Region 4AB Forensic Tournaments
The month of February has flown by in a flurry of competition for the Forensics and Debate Varsity team. On Saturday, February 10, 2018, the team traveled to King George High School to secure their places in the Super Regionals event. Sophomore Quentin Phillips received an impressive 1st place in Extemporaneous Speaking, and duo Courtney Galligher and Nour Goulmamine also reached 1st place in Serious Duo Interpretation. Senior Vincent Mangano brought home a 2nd place in Poetry Interpretation, and Joitree Alam fought her way to 5th place in Prose Interpretation. However, the adventure was not over yet for these students.
On February 24, 2018, they returned to King George High School to perform in Super Regionals. Though it was definitely a stressful task to compete against the best in the state, the team put on their game faces and performed with all their might. It paid off in the end, and the Forensics and Debate team ended up bringing home some impressive wins. Quentin Phillips, once again placing 1st in Extemporaneous Speaking, will now advance to Clover Hill High School on March 24th to compete against the best in the state. Courtney Galligher and Nour Goulmamine, receiving 4th place, and Vincent Mangano, receiving 5th, will serve as alternates in their categories. Please congratulate the following:
