National Business Honor Society Induction
On Thursday, March 30, 2017, the Midlothian chapter of the National Business Honor Society welcomed new inductees during Midlo Morning. In total, 24 inductees joined the prestigious group. In order to join, the student must have taken at least three business classes, have a 3.5 GPA in those classes, and a 3.0 overall.
The induction began with an introduction from previously inducted member, Lucas Via, and society president, Greyson Hesch. Mrs. Yvonne Mullins also spoke to the requirements for new inductees. When Mullins introduced each new inductee, she mentioned why each new member was chosen. She spoke to their character, dedication to class, and overall portrayal of the Midlo business community.
After Tyler Gregory led the new members in the society pledge, Midlo principal Mr. Shawn Abel introduced the speaker of the morning. Taylor Ampy‘s father, Mr. Ken Ampy, is the co-founder and CEO of Astyra Corp., a Richmond-based staffing and consulting firm. Mrs. Ampy spoke about what advice he would give to his younger self and praised the group of students for their outstanding involvement in business. He also revealed that he and his college roommate, the co-founder of the company, had never taken a business class before starting the company. After the induction, parents and inductees enjoyed refreshments and various breakfast items.
Congratulations to the new National Business Honor Society Inductees!
