The National Hockey League’s season has progressed to the Conference Finals.  In the West, the Edmonton Oilers meet the Dallas Stars in their first game in the best of 7 series.  In the Eastern conference, the Florida Panthers beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-2 in the first game of their 7 game series.

During the playoffs, Edmonton defeated the Las Vegas Golden Knights 4 games to 1, and Dallas defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4 games to 2.  In the Eastern Conference, the Panthers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4 games to 3, and the Hurricanes beat the Washington Capitals 4 games to 1.

The Florida Panthers are defending champions, defeating the Edmonton Oilers last season with both teams looking to return to the Stanley Cup Finals, and consensus best player in the league Connor McDavid of the Oilers is looking to get his name inscribed on Lord Stanley’s Cup.  Edmonton and Florida are currently the favored picks to return to the finals, with Edmonton slightly preferred by experts to win their first cup since the ‘89-’90 season.
