The Debate Club attended the Statewide tournament on Sat., April 26. The tournament was hosted by James Madison University, which is about two hours away from Midlothian. Our team was able to send six members to compete. Due to the distance, some of the team had to ride up to JMU the afternoon before and stay in one of the hotels nearby. The other team members simply drove up the morning of.
The competition lasted from 8:00 am to well into the evening, with most team members not arriving home until nearly 11:00 pm. While none of our competitors placed high enough for formal recognition, we should be extremely proud of all the handwork and effort they put into preparing for the tournament.
