There have been many trendy water bottles within the last decade, but the ones that stand out include Hydro-Flask, Owola, and Stanley. It seems there is a new uprising water bottle every year, despite the fact that previous water bottles are reusable. So, watching people own multiple of the same bottle in different colors can be infuriating to some people.
In 2018, there was an increase in the “Hydro-Flask trend”. Participants covered their metal bottles with various stickers that represented themselves. This led to the height of the VSCO girl trend. Throughout 2021, the water bottle trend hopping seemed to die down before the mass following of one specific brand, Stanley. Stanley’s most popular cup was the quencher tumbler, resulting in over 10 million sales over the past few years.
Water bottles have changed over the years but the love for decorating them never went away. “I have a pink hydro flask and I really like decorating my water bottle especially when there is space to put a sticker on it,” Nicole Roxas, 12, said. “I only have three stickers on it. One with my school I’m going to, one with Planet 9 Records, and one from my friend, Sarah Margaret.”
Currently, the water bottle trends have died down, the most recent one being CHAKO LAB. Despite many of the trendy water bottles being bulky and inefficient, teen girls seem to love them while the general public loaths them.
