School lunches have a nation wide reputation of being putride. Recently in Midlo, students have noticed the improvements in the lunches. From Ham and cheese rippers to veggie potstickers, the menu had been refined. But some students are still attached to certain food items due to nostalgia and childhood remembrance.
Still, some students remain attached to the classic cafeteria staples for the nostalgia. Items like Bosco sticks, fiesta pizzas, and smiley fries bring back childhood memories. In fact, many schools order these beloved favorites from sites like guinthers.com, where the food is sold in bulk cases and shipped frozen, ready for lunch trays.
The improvements have caught the attention of Midlo students. “I like the ground beef and rice the most because I can add cheese and taco sauce to it which makes it really filling and also, it tastes really good.” Malia Myers, 12, said. When asked what lunch Myers would like to see, she said “Quesadillas with salsa would be a good school lunch.”
Breakfast may be known as the most important meal of the day, but to Midlo students it’s lunch!
