Midlothian Show Choir performed their final show on Fri., Mar. 21 and Sat., Mar. 22. Members of the choir performed at Powhatan High School, and performed two separate shows with their individual groups.
City Lights, the all-girls show choir, performed their show, based on the theme of Gossip Girl, on Friday. “Sharks was my favorite song we performed,” Lilly Page, 11, said. This show started at 9:30pm, and will be performed at the end of the year assembly for the school to see.
Just For Show, the choir composed of both boys and girls, performed on Sat. at 6pm, with their theme of “Duelling Pianos.” This show went back to back from Elton John and Billy Joel songs, using songs like Uptown Girl and Crocodile Rock. “My favorite part of the show was Pinball Wizard,” Millie Wright, 11, said. “It was the last song we did, and it was so much fun to perform.”
Some of the rising seniors shared heartwarming sentiments about their last year about to start, with the auditions for their final year in the choir happening from Monday to Wednesday this week. Overall, both of the shows were a success. “We all did our best and worked so hard for this show,” Emma Abell, 11, said, “And it was really fun seeing all of our hard work paying off.”
