The first meeting of the Women’s Empowerment Club was held on Friday, September 27. The club, which meets once a month, aims to create an environment of support for the girls at the school. Getting together, doing an activity, supporting each other, and enjoying donuts are the main facets of the club.
Muzhda Shirzad,9, explains why she enjoys the Women Empowerment Club. “I like the community this club forms, and how uplifting it is.”
The club engages in many community building activities. During the first meeting, the main activity was writing a letter to a woman who inspires you. Shirzad wrote a detailed letter to Ariana Grande, who served as an inspiration for talent and hard work.
“I wrote to Kim Kardashian.” Lia Anderson, 9, says, “She’s my favorite fashion designer, and I love how her clothes make me feel confident.”
Confidence and uplifting others is one of the main tenets of this club. The turnout was very high, so the forecasted attendance is high for the upcoming months of the club, which take place once a month in the library.
