Girls basketball defeats the Falcons on Senior Night
Girls Basketball Senior Night 2022
The Varsity Girls Basketball Team celebrated their senior athletes before their game against Huguenot on February 7, 2022, where they emerged victoriously. For the 2022 season, the team only had two senior players, and both were escorted down the court where they were recognized for their dedication to the program over the years. The seniors also received a basket of gifts and flowers to commemorate their time on the team. This undoubtedly set the tone for the competitive match-up that ended with a score of 57-4 in favor of the Trojans.
Trojan Girls Basketball Team Seniors:
Ellie Herndon has been playing basketball for Midlo since her freshman year. Despite her talent on the court, Herndon’s real passion is in softball as she is committed to Randolph-Macon College where she will continue the game after playing four years on Midlo’s Varsity Softball Team. Herndon plans on majoring in accounting with a minor in forensics. While, Herndon used basketball as a way to stay in shape for her softball seasons, over her four years on the Trojan squad she developed into a key player.
Alana Montz’s basketball career started in fifth grade when she progressed from recreational teams to the Tomahawk Creek Middle School team and then eventually on to the JV and Varsity girls teams at Midlo. Montz has been an essential player for the program since her freshman year, which made her senior night all the more memorable. She plans to attend either James Madison University as a health science major or take a gap year before attending school for a radiology program.
Congratulations, seniors!
