Davis receives recognition for positive impact
Sra. Travis Jiminez gives the Teacher Recognizes Teacher award to Mr. Drew Davis
On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, Midlothian High School English teacher Mr. Drew Davis received the Teachers Recognizing Teacher (TRT) Award from colleague Sra. Travis Jimenez. She remarked, “This teacher influences other people through his actions and shows an example of leadership.” Davis has taught English for six years, touching the lives of students and helping them make their way in this difficult world. He teaches both the 9th and 12th grades, arguably two of the most important years in a student’s life, as they begin and exit their high school years. Davis also spends his time coaching the JV Girls Volleyball team, adding to the many reasons why Jiminez chose him for this honor.
Davis graduated in the Chesterfield County Public Schools system, so he understands the whole process of teaching and being a student in the Chesterfield area. After receiving his diploma from Manchester High School, Davis earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University. With all of his education intact, he began his career in teaching. After three years, he switched to Midlothian High School, joining the English Department. Next month, Mr. Davis will have the opportunity to recognize another deserving member of the Midlo faculty for their positive impact on students.
Congratulations, Mr. Drew Davis!
