On June 4, 2018, during the final faculty meeting of the year, Midlo Marketing Teacher Mrs. Carolyn Manheim passed on the Teachers Recognizing Teachers award to Mr. Kevin Thomas, who teaches Health & PE, as well as Driver Education at Midlo. Mrs. Manheim chose Mr. Thomas because he is a veteran teacher who makes a difference by offering opportunities that students may not otherwise have, such as his Advanced PE field trips. According to Mrs. Manheim, “Mr. Thomas is a very caring teacher. He is firm, fair, and fun, and the students really respect him. My son took his class for two years and it was one of his favorite classes at Midlothian High School.” Mr. Thomas quietly leads by example to enhance students’ lives, and this led him to earn this month’s award.
