Lady Trojans Win Season Opener Against Dinwiddie

After a 9-8 season last year, the Lady Trojans Varsity Basketball Team looks to come out strong in the 2017-18 year. Although the team lost key seniors, such as: Tina Lindenfeld, McKenna Steele, and Liz Vincent, they gained a new crop of talent in the freshman class.  The Trojans opened their season against the Generals of Dinwiddie High School

Starting the game for the Trojans were seniors, Nia Lloyd and Morgan Gilbert, junior,Jessie Dziedzic, sophomore Katrina Kirby, and freshman Maddie Fath.  After the first quarter, the Trojans jumped out of the gate with an early lead.  Throughout the game, they held a steady lead and dribbled and passed around the Generals’ defense.  In the fourth quarter, the Trojans extended their lead and secured a win.  After the game ended in a 63-53 win, the Trojans celebrated their victory on the bus ride home.  With a standout game, senior Nia Lloyd scored 24 points, had 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
