Midlo Social Studies and Success teacher, Mr. Danny Abell, wrote a letter to President Obama, concerned about the future of the teaching profession in America,  and to his surprise, he received a call at school from the White House inviting him to attend the National Teacher of the Year Ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. President Obama was so impressed by Mr. Abell’s moving words that he referenced him in his speech. We are so proud of you, Mr. Abell!
